Employing the designed loop pressure adjustable boiling experimental device, the boiling heat transfer performance of Al2O3 nanofluids with different proportions of ethylene glycol under different pressures was studied. At the same time, bubble nucleation, growth and detachment were visualized by high speed camera, and the nanoparticle deposited wall was analysed. The experimental results showed that the boiling heat transfer performance of nanofluids with 20% ethylene glycol was greater than that of nanofluids with deionized water. The critical heat flux (CHF) and the boiling heat transfer coefficient (HTC) were significantly improved. The deposited layer with Al 2 O 3 nanofluids with 20% ethylene glycol was relatively uniform and thin. The result also demonstrated that the boiling heat transfer coefficient and the maximum heat flux increased with the decrease of pressure.
